About me

My name is Clive, and I am a photographer based in North Wales, UK. I have been passionate about photography since I was a young child, when I received my first camera as a gift from my grandfather. Since then, I have explored various genres and styles of photography, ranging from landscape to portrait, from black and white to colour, from documentary to abstract. My portfolio showcases some of my work in these different categories, reflecting my diverse interests and skills as a photographer.

My style and approach vary depending on the subject and the mood I want to convey. I enjoy experimenting with different techniques, such as long exposure, HDR, macro, and tilt-shift, to create unique and captivating images. I also like to edit and enhance my photos using software such as Photoshop and Lightroom, to bring out the best in them. I am always looking for new challenges and opportunities to learn and grow as a photographer.

Weddings & Events

Photographing weddings and events is my balm at the end of a week where the focus may have been dealing with people’s unhappiness. I enjoy both these roles with all my heart. And it makes for a satisfying work-life balance. Capturing those precious moments, the raw emotions, and the beauty of love unfolding on a couple's special day brings me immense joy. Each wedding is a unique story waiting to be told, and being part of that narrative is an honour I cherish. Whether it's the nervous excitement before the vows or the tearful glances during the first dance, I thrive on freezing those fleeting moments in time. Wedding photography allows me to blend artistry with connection, creating images that will be cherished for generations.

Pets & Equine Photography

As a passionate pet photographer, I find immense joy in capturing the unique personalities and endearing moments of our furry companions. Each click of the shutter reveals their playful antics, soulful eyes, and unwavering loyalty. Whether it's a curious kitten, a majestic horse, or a loyal dog, pet photography allows me to freeze time and immortalise the love and connection shared between pets and their humans. The bond we share with animals transcends words, and through my lens, I aim to celebrate their spirit, quirks, and unconditional love.

Family & Portrait Photography

Capturing family and portrait photographs is my heart's delight. There's something magical about freezing moments in time, preserving the essence of relationships, and revealing the beauty within each individual. When I frame a family huddled together, their laughter echoing, or a single soul lost in contemplation, I feel like an artist weaving stories with light and shadows. The camera becomes my brush, and the canvas is life itself. Whether it's the tender gaze of a parent at their child or the wrinkles etched by time on a grandparent's face, these images are more than pixels—they're a testament to love, connection, and the shared journey of existence.

Urban & Street Photography

Urban and street photography are two related but distinct genres of photography that capture the essence of city life. Urban photography focuses on the physical elements of the city, such as its architecture, design, and infrastructure, while street photography captures candid and spontaneous moments of everyday life, such as people, culture, and events. Both genres require a keen eye for composition, light, and detail, as well as a sense of curiosity and exploration. Urban and street photographers often use different techniques and styles to convey their vision and perspective of the urban environment, such as black and white, long exposure, or tilt-shift. Urban and street photography are not only a way of documenting the city, but also a way of expressing one’s identity and creativity through the lens.

Landscapes

Landscape photography is a joy to do. The way the sun kisses the horizon during golden hour, the rugged mountains standing tall against the sky, and the tranquil lakes reflecting the surrounding beauty – all of it captivates my soul. With each click of the shutter, I freeze a moment in time, preserving the grandeur of nature. Whether it's the rolling hills of Wales or the dramatic cliffs along the coast, I find solace in capturing these vistas. Each landscape tells a story, and I am merely the humble narrator, translating the whispers of wind and the dance of light into visual poetry.

Things that make you look

Photography is my canvas for capturing the extraordinary in the ordinary. While landscapes and familiar faces have their allure, it's the unconventional that truly ignites my creativity. I seek out the peculiar, the unexpected, and the offbeat. Whether it's a rusted bicycle half-buried in wildflowers or the intricate patterns on a moth's wings, I find beauty in the overlooked. These unique fragments of existence become my visual poetry – a testament to the diversity of our world. Through my lens, I celebrate the quirky, the asymmetrical, and the wonderfully weird. Each click is an invitation to see life from a different angle, to embrace the extraordinary hiding in plain sight.
